last week's cocks of hay have sunk to flat shapes and turned brown , as grass starts to grow back already around them .

Today's are heaped tall , still green , the cut and raked area around them very pale .

Indoors , however it is dark . Paintpots , old frames , empty bottles and a frying pan indicate something less harmonious .
